Why? A manufacturer raped money out of a consumer for a BS product that underperforms for its price and half the time isn't exactly what they need anyways.
If it's a system that you spent hours customizing and building and you've made your own case, then I'll cry for you. But if somebody got their Dell or HP or Gateway trashed, I laugh, because that's where it belongs. No offense to DS, of course.
Botique builders are the worst, though. Stupid Voodoo PC wanted to charge me $10,000 for a PC I could quite literally build for half the price. They wanted to charge $5000 more for the fact that they put it together and warranty it. This is besides the fact that the whole purpose of a QX6800 is to be OVERCLOCKABLE, and if you overclock, it voids their warranty which is basically what you're paying almost the entire $5000 for. And you don't need a 1000w power supply for that kind of crap because it doesn't improve the performance at ALL over a 750 watt. What matters is the power efficiency, and all their stuff like the PSU and mobo were listed as their brand. The list goes on and on.
Never has it been so easy or affordable to build a computer, and never has it been so important to do so. Manufacturers are horrid. Microsoft's Vista needs to die out, as do all those companies so hell-bent on dominating the market and draining the profit out of you. Computers have become only about business ever since somebody realized how much money can be made off the suckers who are willing to buy whatever they're told they need, just like every other industry. **** all those programs and companies that want to make money off of all that should be free.
