Ingredients:
1 Cup Water
2 1/2 Cups Sugar
Glass Jar
Butter Knife
Cotton String
Pan
Spoon
Food Coloring (optional)
Directions:
1. Tie the string to the butter knife, making sure that it is long enough to ang almost to the bottom of the jar.
2. Boil the water.
3. Stir the suger into the water, one spoonful at a time.
4. Add a few drops of food coloring (optional).
5. Pour the sugar solution in the glass jar. Make sure there is no undissolved sugar.
6. Place the butter knife on the top of the jar, with the string hanging down into the jar.
7. Set the jar in a safe place.
8. In a day or two, you should see crystals start to form on the string. Leave it for a week or more to make them bigger.
