Well, I have to go in for surgery today...nothing major, just my left upper wisdom tooth is blocking my last molar, so I have to get the wisdom tooth out and possibly the molar as well. I wouldn't worry except that they havn't come out yet at all, so they've got to cut way friggin up into my jaw...anyway, wish me luck with that.

I got my bottom right one out a year or two ago. I was paranoid going in, then they gave me a couple of needles for sleep in my hand-arm area and I was like "I don't see how this is going to work but I'll close my eyes and try to get to sleep anyway".
Next second I wake up and I knew it was over and I was like "I don't think I fell asleep". Then I basically fell asleep again.
I think the worst part of your operation will be wondering how that stuff can work so well.Comment

oh yeah, well back in vietnam, they amputated my leg without them applying pain relievers and gave me 67 shots a day. I also got shot a few dozen times in the back and side of the head with an M16 and remained conscious...hows that for painComment

Good luck! I've had surgury only once before and I can't really remember what it was like. When I was 7, i think i broke my leg or something and they had to put something in my leg to keep the bone to gether or something :S i honestly can't rememberAnanana: Girls are so complicated. Okay well i'm back from surgery...everything went okay. still a bit out of it from the Pentothal, but they have me hooked up on Vicadin with Codine, so other than my jaw hurting like hell and my inability to eat anything harder than oatmeal, I'm okay.
Wierd though...I can't remember anything that happened all afternoon. Granted, I was sleeping, but I don't remember any of the aftermath after the surgery, or anything that happened later. Like, I have no idea how I got home, even.Comment

The most I have had is 3 stitches across the bridge of the nose. It was a boomerang. (And I was the one who threw it, so yes, they do come back.)
I need braces. My wisdom teeth are low enough that they aren't on the surface, but they have started pushing teeth inward. For a few days, there was some heavy moving, so I had to do some home-done dental work. C-clamp (As a winch.) and Floss (That stuff is stronger than I thought!). I was able to stop the moving and keep it from moving further. (My mouth was sore after that...)Comment

I got my bottom two taken out. I got a particularly strong persecription of Vicodin, so i was like WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!
They dont use anasthesia anymore here either, so I got to stay awake listeing to them drill at my teeth yey
