He phoned in the day of Vengeance (Sunday) to notify the WWE that his wife and son were vomiting blood. He was actually supposed to win the ECW title and become the first person to ever hold the WWE, WCW and ECW world straps in his career. It's sad when you think of all of the great wrestlers, managers and valets that have passed away so far in 2007. Sheri Martel just passed away and now Chris and Nancy Benoit. Benoit was one of the few wrestlers I could respect and stand watching on WWE and watching tonight's RAW was just downright depressing. The fact that a Jushin Thunder Liger match out of New Japan aired was awesome though.

Yeah, I loved to mark out at Chris' matches. One of the few wrestlers left that I could actually stomach.

Yeah that's sad. He was a wrestler for 13 years and all of a sudden he's dead.

and isn't it ironic how eddie died the morning he was to win the WHC in '05 and benoit died when he was most likely to win the ECW world title
