Well as most high school students know, AP is over for them. For me and my fellow juniors though we have one more year of it if we wanted to. For seniors, congrats, you are all going to the real deal. This is not my point. My point is that after taking part in AP U.S. History and American Voices for a full year and doing well in it, I feel like I have done nothing at all. Like that I wasted an entire year stressing for the exam and doing the 8 billion essays and stuff for nothing. I don't know if it is a problem that lies within me or if other on here who have taken AP, or done anything very stressful, feel this way sometimes. Any advice?

Re: Ever feel very unacomplished?
I think a sense of accomplishment comes from the perceived benefits of taking the class and a sense that you gained worthwhile knowledge in the process. If you don't feel like the class was worth it, it is probably because you feel that you learned how to take a test instead of American History.
Also, a sense of accomplishment can be entirely based on the class you took. I've taken 9 AP exams over two years (4 junior/5 senior) and each different class give me a different sense of accomplishment. Some classes like AP Calculus and AP Computer Science were definitely worthwhile and I feel like I gained a lot from them. Other classes (AP Economics) felt like a total waste of my time because I really didn't learn anything.
My advice is to try other AP classes and see if they are any different. Try to pick classes that fit your interests and you should feel better about them. Also think about getting college credit for the classes.
BTW be thankful you did not take AP US History last year. The essay questions really really really sucked. -

Re: Ever feel very unacomplished?
Well @ Emu Hater thank you for that very lovely comment. I guess it is all based on the classes you take. I'm not doing AP English next year though, I really can't stand the teacher that teaches it. I am however doing AP U.S. Government and Politics with ACE English, ACE Health (lol), and ACE Economics. I know it's a loaded senior year but I just came to used to it. Hopefully I will feel accomplished come July when the grades come in from the exam. @ everyone else, yeah I loled as well.
And the pea mocks me.

Re: Ever feel very unaccomplished?
We had AP 11th and 12th English and APUSH.
PS before you go paying all this money for AP tests make sure the colleges you're interested in will take the credit.Comment

Re: Ever feel very unaccomplished?
The high school I graduated from didn't offer any AP classes at all. The one I went to before that did and I was going to take AP English for a chance to get my hands on Les Miserables... I love that opera... IT'S NOT A MUSICAL!!!
The world has gone crazy and so have I.

Re: Ever feel very unaccomplished?
High school really isn't that important. If you're sick of the AP bs, just take CP courses your senior year and go to a community college for two years, save yourself a lot of money, and then transfer into whatever school you want to go to. All you need to do is keep up your GPA (don't dip below 3.6) and you should be pretty good.Comment
