    The Search Button

I've already posted this somewhere else but because of inactiveness and nobody listening I will post it again. I keep seeing people making threads that have already been made...

Well I've been seeing many threads asking about things that have already been answered, so here's how to figure out whether your question has already been asked or solved. For the people who don't even know what the Search button is I will show you how to get to it.

If you look above where it says Chit Chat and then says a description, you should see nine buttons: User CP, Register, FAQ, etc. One of them being the Search button. When you click on the search button a little box will show up. Type in your question or part of the question and hit "Go". By clicking Show Threads you will see all the threads people have made with words from your sentence. If you click Show Posts, you will see posts people have made with the words from your sentence. For example if you wanted to know how to add songs onto StepMania, you can type "Add StepMania Songs" into the search box, click Show Threads, and press Go. You should come up with the picture below. As you can see if you scroll down you will find a thread perfect for your question which I circled in red. So before you make a thread, please use the search button. Thank you .

I'll remember that, but I already use the search button.

        Re: The Search Button

That's what I tell some people who make duplicate threads. The search button is a button everyone should use before making a thread that they are not sure about or someone made one similar to that. Maybe Guido should put a sticky on this thread, I think its important enough, or moved to the newbie forum and place a sticky on it.

          Re: The Search Button

I used to be really anal about seeing multiple threads about the same topic. However, after coming to FFR, I stopped caring about it because there will always be two types of people.

The first type are the forum-experienced people, they've used forums before and posted in them a lot so they know that if they want an answer, the best way would be to search it up first and if it can't be found, make a thread about it.

The second type of people are those who come to the forum with only one goal, an answer. Searching is not among one of their first ideas -- they come to the forums, create a thread with their question, and wait for replies.

No matter what we do, there'll always be the second type of people; so here's my suggestion: get over it.

despite this attempt at reaching out to brain dead players. The problems will always continue. Like a zombie plague the only way to stop it is to sever the heads of those who cannot get simple points through there heads.
