Heh, this weekend is my anniversary weekend. 2.5 years together, 6 month engagement.
Saturday - Get her a present and card, buy easter eggs for my niece and nephew. Meet up with Krissy, go out, do something. Staying over at her house.
Sunday - No idea in the morning, food or something, don't know where yet. Evening will be out for drinks, nice place that we know. Then staying at the Hilton hotel for only £27 (5 star hotel and proper room, ya, I'm awesome like that).
Which means: Stealing chocolate eggs/bunnies from people.
Saturday - Jewish Sabath. Ironic given Jesus's faith.
Sunday - bettr resurrect Jesus.
In all seriousness, who cares what people do for Easter. Either it's an annual recognition of a religiously relevant day or it's an over commercialized system put forth by those bastards that need you to buy things so that they can make money. In both instances, an individual person's actions are of little importance. Answers could include: religion, candy, family time, etc. But why? What makes this day any different than any other day?
The fact is that this day is not any different. I mean it's not like Jesus was resurrected on THIS DAY (it hasn't even come yet). So basically it's just a year by year thing. This is one of the things that bothers me about organized religion. There are certain days which are especially religious. If a person has true faith, shouldn't they treat each day with the same reverence of God?
But I digress. For me, I got some candy in my future, a family dinner, then probably working all that night (as well as all the night before). Notice: despite the family dinner and all that, not a single person in my family is religious and if asked of our religious alignment, every one of us would respond "atheist".
Buying myself a Creme Egg McFlurry.
And then going to Church on Sunday (hopefully the hot drummer will be there).
And Monday? I'm saving that for procrastinated homework.
I'm all for the HolyEaster spirit.
Asphyxiated Monophysitism is friends with Lamaism which is short for Mithraism that occasionally sleeps with Orphism who is the incestual twin brother of Pentecostalism.

OT: I tend to not to touch those issues with a 10 foot pole because it always leads to some stupid bull I don't like.
I don't like the commercialization of Easter myself. It's just the fact that it's a four day weekend and a kickass time for people to get together n'stuff.
As a side note, my family's Ethiopian (Eastern) Orthodox so USUALLY it's on a different-but not this year. But we use a different calender than Eastern/Oriental Orthodox (long story). Ethiopian Christianity is messed up.
Friday - violently vomit and cry with the pain in my gut until the wee hours of the morning, wake up with a huge hangover, feel sick and laze around the whole day, taking a 6 hour nap
Saturday - job interview, possibly food shopping, weather is **** though
Sunday - absolutely nothing
Monday - I don't personally have an exam, but our exams are starting monday. Joy to the world and university!
C is for Charisma, it's why people think I'm great! I make my friends all laugh and smile and never want to hate!
