Anime...a cultural masterpeice brought to America and slaughtered by the FCC. In my opinion, Funimation should be exiled to Elbe much like Napoleon, but anyways...Anyone seen Berserk? I just recently saw the new collection, and it absolutly blew me away. THoughts? Comments?

Some anime is awesome, some sucks. You just have to know what series to watch and remember to NEVER watch edited versions.

If they show it on Cartoon Network, it's a piece. Otherwise, if you buy the actual DVD, it'll be a lot better (obviously depending on the show).

Except for DBZ. That show got old around 3rd grade.

Oh, and make sure it has the option to watch it in japanese with english subtitles. I can almost garentee 100% better voice acting.

yea, even adult swim is bullshit. A lot of the anime cartoon network refuses to show is the goodstuff. The original cowboy bebop was good, along with evangelion, but they really fu**ed it up towards the end with the whole stream of consiousness thing. THe problem is too many dubbing companies think cartoon=little kid, and they mess with it until its sutible for 7 year olds.some anime is weird though, but the more mainstream stuff seems to be decent.

On the international channel they have uncut shows occansionally, wierd thing is, they showed that episode from tenchi muyo in the hot springs, and it wasn't censored o_O, yet they can't say 'kill' on cartoon network. COME ON, kids can change the channel and watch violence, profanity and.... other such things, like dubbing those shows is going to do anything, especially at the adult swim timing schedule.

whats even weirder is the dubbing companies feel that censoring language is gonna prevent kids from learning the words...what the hell is that? a kid isn't gonna know their favorite cartoon character said F**K when they censor the UC? common open ur eyes. lol, one time abc family channel ran Blazing Saddles during Thanksgiving. It lasted for a half hour because of all the scenes that were edited out. basically it ran without a plot line. kinda like scarface on a mainstream family channel

Trigun hardly got edited on adult swim, i thought they did a decent job (only word edited was sh i believe... I would have figured that wolfwood shooting with a cross may be controversial, but no...

I've seen one trigun episode, and it was the finale, lol. Looks pretty good with the flash back throught the series and such, but it's kind of hard to tell from 30 min.

I didn't see trigun on cartoon network, but I did manage to borrow a friend's boxed set and watched the whole series. Great series, and I loved legato, but teh whole "I CANNOT HARM A SOUL" thing got kinda annoying. It was great for effect though when he *SPOILER ALERT* ended up killing legato. Good series. Great series=Berserk
