    Lead pencil crisis....

Okay, so I had to stop doing my homework because I was using a wooden pencil.

I had to use that pencil earlier today because I ran out of lead in my own pencil. I HATE WOODEN PENCILS. I don't like how you have to sharpen them every few minutes, as well as the way they feel in your hand. They are useless when you have to write numbers in fraction form. They come out too blurry to read.

Problem is, if my lead pencil runs out of lead, I can't use it (which keeps it in sight), therefore I eventually leave it behind on some desk by accident and lose it. (Also how I lose books half the size of the stack of books I carry around)

That was my last lead pencil, so now I'm really pissed.

Also, does anyone know a guess-free method to finding the square root of an unfamiliar number without having to use a calculator? I'm asking because if this guessing game keeps up, I'm going to fail the future test, or at least manage to answer 4 questions by the time class is over.

    Re: Lead pencil crisis....

Hint: Buy a few more lead pencils, buy a cup, or even one of those super fancy, high technology pencil holders. And put them in there. Or put it in your pocket. If you even have a book sock, or whatever, stick it in there.

Or just suck it up and use a wooden.

They've made the little lead re-fills for a reason. Use them. And don't press so hard when you write, only barbarians go through as much lead as you do. Aren't you allowed to carry your backpack around? That helps.

I love mechanical pencils. Of course, I'm a nerd and carry one each of the .5, .7, and .9 kinds, with matching leads. I hate losing them though, I actually just lost one last week, which wouldn't be that big of a deal except that it costs $2.00 for ONE pencil.

That's why I love pockets, too.

Ah, I remember when I had a pencil holder. It was the size of my LA book, which was half the size of my pile of stuff. Dangerous.

Concerning pockets: Pockets are very useful and often used addition to clothing. They can commonly be found on jeans, and can be especially large on guy's jeans. Due to the popular demands from preps for skintight jeans for girls, nearly all girl jeans are tight on the legs and have much smaller pockets. This makes carrying a pencil in a girl's pocket dangerous, for both the person wearing the pocket and the pencil in the pocket.

Meaning: I wish my mom would let me shop in the guys department for pants, and that the pockets on my pants were bigger and more suitable to pencil carrying.

My favorite pencil is a sweet sweet .3 mechanical graphing pencil. I use it for drawing though, not graphing.

I hate pen because I make writos* a lot, therefore my writing must be erasable. Also, I like to sketch and avoid drawing with a pen at all times. Ballpoint pens, especially the dying ones, make my hand ache after writing a couple paragraphs with them, because I have to press slightly hard.
