Which island? I thought you were on Bel Isle, which, unless I'm mistaken is remarkably close to Detroit. This would mean that if you are closer than I am, it's not much.

As for carpooling: if we do anything, I'd probably need to drive. Sorry, but I'd rather not let someone who I barely know over the Internet drive me somewhere very far from home.
