    Sheet Music Freeware

If this is in the wrong section, simply have it moved.

I'm trying to write some sheet music, and I'd like to see if there was any freeware for writing sheet music.

No, I'm not writing in on paper. One: It looks like utter ****. Two: I'm probably going to need multiple sheets, and I'd have to get it from my band teacher, which costs money.

Finale Notepad. At least I'm pretty sure it's notation.

The problem is that all (I believe) software demos don't allow you to save. Otherwise, you would have to go through SHADY OPERATIONS to get a full version for less than a whole lot of money. There are multiple web sites like www.musictheory.net where you can print out your own, and you might be able to save your own ink and paper by doing it on a school printer.

Finale NotePad is unfortunately the best free sheet music software out there, but it's really limited. One of my biggest gripes is that you can't modulate to parallel keys, which is a pain when your goal is to find the right diatonic scale to put your music into.

I do my best to avoid school printers; although it's not that much, they make us pay to print stuff off. My dad's into photography, and I'm an artist, so we have more ink than we need. That, and a kickass printer.

Ah. It sucks when you can't print for free.

Anything that the staff has to do at my high school usually costs money = /. It blows.

              I'll look into Finale Notepad.
