The Googleplex...

For those of you who don't know, a googleplex is 10^(google), and a google is 10^(100). Sure it sounds all nice, neat, and compact on in writing like that, but can anyone really possibly conceive just how impossibly, implausibly large this number actually is? I mean, You couldn't even effectively measure the number of molecules in the universe with that number. Gosh...it just amazes me why someone would bother thinking that up...

also as a quick note: the numerical representation of a googleplex on that site is far from correct. Thats only about 10,500 zeros (i went on word and did a character count). Nowhere near: 10000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 zeros.

Actually a googleplex has far more than 10,500 zeros. I mean think about it. 10^2 = 100 - 2 zeros. 10^3 = 1000 - 3 zeros. 10 ^ google= very big number - a google zeros. So basically whatever the power is, that's how many zeros there are. Therefore, a googleplex has a google zeros.

i know that, i was saying the numerical representation of the googleplex on the site was incorrect, in that it only had 10,500 zeros and not one google zeros. In fact, if you had a trillion people writing a trillion zeros per second for a trillion years you would not come even close to a googleplex.

And to put things in another perspective, Cen's post is just based on a mole, or 10^26, and the statistics are already that illuminating. Yeah. Crazy stuff.

I treid to do this on Microsoft word.. but i got to page 6,500+ and my comp froze... had like 46 million characters... i guess trying to copy 5,000 pages at a time isn't good...
