    Laptops!

Okay, I found some cheap laptops on bestbuy.com, but they say "Includes Windows Vista Home".
Does that mean they do NOT have XP?
Or Do they have XP, and a Vista Upgrade disk?

Also, whats so wrong with Vista? I know theres compatibility issues.

Vista is an operating system, as is XP. You can't really have two operating systems on a computer (well you can, but it's complicated).

It means you'll get vista home edition, there will be no XP.

        Vista is awesome!

You can have two OS's easily, as long as you know somewhat what you are doing.
Problem is those laptops probably come with home basic, which is **** compared to the others, and you will not be able to upgrade if it comes with home basic because the hardware will not be able to support it (most lokley).

I have three operating systems on my laptop. Mac, Windows XP, and Linux. I heard that vista isn't that great at all.

I was talking about different windows operating systems, i.e. XP, 2000, and vista.

Mac / Linus / Windows is not difficult.

If you get vista and have pirated or bootleg softwere they will delete it and POSSABLY report it to the police depending on the severity. So ya Vista blows hard!

Also if you happen to be looking and porn or somthing and they have your age registered below 18...I heard the report you for that to.

                Re: Laptops!

Okay. Most of the time when you buy a PC or Laptop, it will not have any Windows installation discs. This is due to the licensing terms that MS presents to manufacturers. Some computers with XP on them comes with free upgrades to Vista, but this is usually just Vista Home (read below) and when you install Vista, it invalidates your XP key. To clarify, from what I've read, you can not reinstall XP or dualboot between XP and Vista after you choose an Upgrade install. Secondly, if anyone here decides to get a PC or Laptop with Vista, try to make sure it has at the very least Home Premium. Home Basic is the lamer version and doesn't even have Aero or Flip-3D. I remember seeing that you can upgrade to a better version directly from Vista (when I was using Beta 2, but that's been a long while now).

By the way: for what it's worth, Vista isn't terrible. I will stick with XP for a while however. (Oh, and Mac OS owns all of yous).
