    HELP!!!

    I recently got a laptop from my brother(FlourecentArmy) because he got a better desktop.
    I got the internet figured out and everything but except for one thing. My CPU usage is always at 100%
    and that is not good for a fairly new(1 and a half years) laptop. And I cant even play FFR
    because of the CPU usage!G4Y! It is ticking me off! I tried to figure it out! Also I can't take
    it apart because my cheap parents took the extended plan and are still paying for it.

    So I need help.

    P.s. If your just going to come in here and just say things like "Wow that sucks" or "O_o" then don't
    even post please! I need the more computer advanced people. I am what you would call a "No0b" when it
    comes to fixing a computer. LOL.

    ctrl+alt+del
    go to processes.
    look at the percentages.

    How are they distributed?
    Small percentages across several processes or 1 large percentage?

      Re: HELP!!!

      It is just one big % ranging from at least 95% up to 100%.

          It was system idle process when I had it. Then it flipped out and Explorer.exe was using a constant 96%.

            Well System Idle shouldn't effect you too much.
            I'm pretty sure that if explorer is using most of your CPU then youi have Spyware. I had this problem and then downloaded AVG antispyware and it solved the problem.

              I think it's better if you just cut the useless resources.
              Saves CPU.
              If you're desperate, then cut Explorer.

                True, you can cut explorer and operate by using file>>run in Task Manager.

                iexplore.exe = Internet Explorer
                firefox.exe = Firefox

                And if you need any others you can probably figure it out by guessing at them.
