alright, you want a serious response? fine.
heres the progression.
elementary school: your parents dress you
middle school: you start to dress yourself, but try to fit with everyone/a certain group by wearin what they wear.
high school: still alot of the same thing, but you start to realize your real identity and start to not care what everyone else does
college: you dont care. at all. most of the time you put on clothes that are clean.
post college: you still dont care. you spouse doesnt care. the only time you really look "nice" is if you have to.
now, in middle school, thats just how things go. there's no real escaping it because most middle schoolers dont have the self image or the maturity to not care about what everyone else does and do what they like. now, before everyone here thats in middle school says some unitelligent crap about "i dont care screw u i like pants" evaluate yourself. i almost guarentee that in some way or another you emulate the people that you hang out with. even if you dont, its irrelevant. as you get older you seriously begin to realize that clothes do not define the person. you start to hang out with people for who they are rather than how they look... now that gets into a whole different topic, which i'm not even gonna mess with. to be honest with you, i was a "skater" in middle school because those were the people i became friends with, and because the "preps" as a majority were stuck on themselves and treated others, each other, and their girlfriends badly. did i dress like them? yea, to some extent... i never really got into it because i didnt like spending large amounts of money on clothes ( and still dont) but thats beside the point. also, the people that you see that are still worried about appearance and clothing as they get older are increasingly shallower the older they get. to truelly mature, you must have a desire to know a person, not just know how that person looks or what they wear.
there, happy?
