    technology and paranoia

need a bunch of examples, gotta write a paper, need a topic cant think.

some other examples are like cloning, AI, microchip implants, nanotechnology, basically things that there are debates to and some people are paranoid about.

also needs to be based in technology.

i was thinking maybe like videogames and violence, but i think i'm way too prejudiced to write an objective paper on that... i dunno.

    anyone have any ideas?

    Re: technology and paranoia

So basically, you need aspects of technology that are making some people fearful of it?

      Re: technology and paranoia

need things like stem cell research or something, where you've got a big public debate and then aspects of paranoia, pretty much anything with technology and a debate there will be aspects of paranoia.

Genetics in general. No need to limit it to just stem cell research or cloning. Just genetics.

People get freaked over artificial intelligence and how reliant we are on technology in general, too.

            The internet?

I doubt you'll find many adults who aren't a little paranoid of the fact that people can access information from anywhere in the world in seconds.

If an EMP went off in a highly populated area like a city it would hinder the entire place completely useless, planes/helicopters would crash, cars, they'd be completely cut off from the rest of the world and vulnerable to anything.

How we're on the edge of human genetic manipulation.

The way I see it, the more technology advances, the lazier we get and the less work we actually do. If you got a robot to do everything for you and you just stayed in bed with just a laptop for 8 weeks straight, you would completely lose all your lower back muscle and wouldn't be able to stand up. And I mean you wouldn't get up and walk around at ALL the whole 8 weeks, showering, food, water, etc. would all be provided by the robot.
I'm not paranoid about that because (I hope) robots like that won't happen until I'm atleast 40 or so, but you could still probably write about it.

I had a dream last night that was similar to this. What you described did not happen so I will have to call you a liar. Sorry.
