Re: An Alternate Ramen!
I hope you're joking.cheese + ramen = disgusting
A friend of mine told me a unique way of preparing ramen. He would crunch up the entire bag and deposit half of the flavoring packet into the bag. He would then mix the bag up to get the flavoring all over every noodle.
Then he would eat them without cooking them.
I still haven't bothered to try this yet. I'm sure it's pretty decent though.Truth lies in loneliness, When hope is long gone by -Blind Guardian, The Soulforged

Re: An Alternate Ramen!
The cheesy ramen has to be done right. I've had some crap watery cheesy ramen that was so nasty, it had to be thrown away and typically, I don't like to waste food.

Re: An Alternate Ramen!
Cheesy ramen - NO
Raw - depends on how much of the seasoning packet goes in. But it's meh. The whole packet though is waaaayyy too salty.
Draining - Lol, my friend and I woudl drain ours awhile back and put it in bread like a sandwich. Not bad. But then again I was always starving at his house and anything tasted amazing.Status: Innactive Onehander

Re: An Alternate Ramen!
Josh and I have created an awesome Hell Ramen recipe that we pretty much use
instead of normal ramen.
Basically ultra hot/spicy ramen with some other stuff to make it taste better.
Also, it's much better than the pre-spicy ramen they have.Comment

Re: An Alternate Ramen!
About never bothering to try them raw?
Nope. Never have. Don't have much of a desire to either, since I'm still totally satisfied with them the way I always have them (ie cooked).
EDIT: by the way, a few summers back, my diet was 100% ramen. I actually lost a lot of weight and can't recall a single instance in which my body was any more ****ed up during that period than when I have other things included in my diet.

Re: An Alternate Ramen!
There have been numerous studies of allergies and/or sensitivities to MSG, attributed to the free glutamic acid component, which has been blamed for causing a wide variety of physical symptoms such as migraines, nausea, digestive upsets, bad dreams, disturbed sleep, drowsiness, heart palpitations, hair loss, asthma, anaphylactic shock, rapidly increasing diabetes, and many other complaints. "Chinese restaurant syndrome" is often used as an example of the symptoms purported to be caused by MSG.
I read the other thing about the noodles having wax in a Chinese Newspaper (World Journal, if some of you know) about two months ago. If I find anything on the Internet about it, I'll post.

Re: An Alternate Ramen!
The word "blame" does not necessarily imply any sort of truthiness to the claim, and often implies that the cause-effect relationship may not be correctly identified.
Oh and by the way:

To the whole "MSG" thing
Google searched it. Pretty simple.
EDIT: Though if your talking strictly about hair loss, I'm not sure if it discusses that.Last edited by blargherness; 11-28-2006, 06:59 PM.Comment

Re: An Alternate Ramen!
Maybe Ramen does take a while to digest. It probably just goes through your system faster than it takes to digest.
