I have fast food like four times a week on average I've never had heartburn. Haha.

So apparently eating fast food is good for you. Imagine that.

I've gotten heartburn once and I'm 14 but otherwise I haven't gotten it. I have eaten too fast though and it feels like i can't swallow anything else or my chest might explode. =P

Whenever I get heartburn it's always because I ate something either very spicy, or with high sodium content before going to bed.

If it happens often enough, try sleeping with the head of your bed elevated higher than the foot and let gravity to the rest.

They're spasms of the esophagus.

That is, my esophagus just closes up and hurts a good deal. There are two ways to get rid of it. Either wait it out, which is VERY painful and could last a very long time (a coupla minutes), or do what I usually do and drink some liquid. That causes excruciating pain for a few seconds, but my esophagus opens up seconds later.
