So this year i decided to go to independent studies because i would rather just stay home for two days doing homework and have the rest of the week to do whatever i want. The school i chose to go to is an accredited school so i can go to college right after i graduate and i also finish a years worth of school in 8 weeks. What do you guys think. Did i make a good choice?

Re: Independent studies vs public school
Well, alot of public schools suck (im not saying all do). I think that because most the teachers can be lazy and dont teach anything, and then expect all the kids to know everything from that year. -
Re: Independent studies vs public school
That school sounds bogus. Two days a week (okay, standard TuTh classes in college), but for only eight weeks?

Re: Independent studies vs public school
public schools = friends made
independent = going out to find friends. = blah.
simple strategy, but in your case, i like how it sounds, where you went to public school and transferred to independent.
im currently on the fence with this one. we will see how it plays out.Comment

Re: Independent studies vs public school
The thing with public schools is that you have a pretty high chance nowadays to get a teacher that doesn't even try to teach you everything, or that is how it works here.
Everyone at my school is smart and I think the teachers get kind of lazy in the teaching department because a lot of them enter the school year knowing the things that are going to be taught before hand. That is how scary they are.
Of course, there are some people who do not do this and the only price is they have to learn it themselves (this is of course if the teacher isn't teaching at all, I've been lucky, I got two teachers that try to teach).
The only benefit I see about the public school system is the interaction with a wide range of people and the slight sense of competition if you can ever be bothered by it.
