Mouse trouble

Has anyone ever had times where your mouse just won't move correctly, like it will just get stuck?
Mine won't move around that good but it did yesterday and I made sure the cord wasn't caught somehow.
Any advice for this?

PS. Ball Mouse or Optical mouse?

PPS. Do you mean stuck as in the cursor won't move or actually physically stuck?

I mean that sometimes the cursor gets stuck and it keeps happening constantly for about 3-5 days. Oh and ball mouse i think, I'm not really that great with some computer stuff.

PS. Too bad I can't get a cat, curse you rules of the owners of the house that my family is renting. >.>

It's a ball mouse if, when you turn the mouse upside down, you don't see a laser.

If it is a ball mouse, take off the little cover on the bottom and clean off the rollers on the inside (where the ball sits). You can just use your finger, you'll probably see a lot of gray things on the rollers. Take the gray things off.

make sure its not an old mouse though, if it is, you may want to be careful with those rollers, mine broke. i had to get a wireless laser mouse. which isnt really a bad thing, but just a word of caution

This happens to me at home. It drives me completely insane.
