I just got the email a couple of hours ago from my parents. Apparently some assholes sneaked onto our property last night and picked the locks to our horse trailer. They then proceeded to try and board our horses onto the trailer and steal the whole lot. Luckily, our horses don't take kindly to strangers and made enough noise to wake my mother. She had enough time to get outside and see which way they were leaving our house and call the cops.
The would be thieves made the mistake of driving towards the end of the road which was nearest to the police station, and were caught quickly. No harm to the horses or trailer, and they're being held until a court date can be set.
Robberies on our road are rare, and one of this magnitude really shakes me to the core.
