I doubt your friend got in Japanese man. Because first of all you would probably need an import machine? (am i wrong) And if you couldnt read japanese anyways why waste money? FFXI looks like an excellent purchase yet i dont have the time and money to spend on it. however I will most likely get it when it comes out for teh PS2. There will probably be more people on it. but i can only imagine the lag on PS2.
