Typically, acceptance letters go out in your first semester. At least, that's how it worked for my friends and me.

I got accepted after a year at community college after neglecting to apply to any colleges during my senior year.
Good news is that i saved $42,000. Give or take a couple hundred bucks.

The first college I applied to said, "Lol! You're in!" and then later rejected me. Second college took me no prob. I don't remember when that was. Sometime in my senior year, but I think it was later.

I'm doing the JC route as well. Much cheaper, and gives me a bit more time to really solidify what I'd like to do with my life.
