    Re: Active x?

I believe Active X is a small program run by internet explorer. I think it's purpose is to find unliscenced and illegal material in web pages you view. It's meant to help you. A while back, this got annoying for me too. I just messed with the IE options and got rid of it somehow. It'll only take you about 5-10 mins to get rid of it. BTW! I never noticed your signiture until now and I realize that we use the same spread ^_^ so I guess you hotkey right?

Thats a version of media player trying to load up .. so you know.

Thats IE asking if you will allow media player to play or not.

          More in-depth explanation time!

Flash (the thing that you use to watch web toons and play FFR / resonance), Windows Media player (watching the movies and listening to the musics) and pretty much everything under the Sun that gets built ontop of Internet Explorer to extend it's functionality is what is called an 'ActiveX control'. In a sense, ActiveX controls are basically small programs that get loaded up and run inside the page you're viewing. Microsoft recently settled a lawsuit with the way these are handled in Internet Explorer. Part of the lawsuit was a patent claim that having ActiveX controls automatically start when you go on a page was infringing the suing company's patent. Microsoft settled, and part of the settlement was to make Internet Explorer require you to click on an ActiveX control before it can be used!

So, our failed patent system leads to more annoyances to the end consumer! Score!
