Cluster Headaches.

Is it true that cluster headaches are the most painful thing in human existance? Supposedly, they are so painful, that people who have that condition have commited suicide or gone crazy.

Where did you hear that?

There are things that are so painful your body automatically passes out, so it you are still conscious when you have a cluster headache then it isn't the most painful thing.

I just read about them on wikipedia. That's got to be horrible. I hope I NEVER get that.

The pain is IN your brain, so you wont pass out. And unlike a normal headache, which throbs with your heartbeat, they are a constant deep pain.

Just read about on Wikipedia and in an article in the FSU medical records.

I'm sure it is very painful, but there are many other nervous system pains that equal the pain or are probably more painful. The point is having a nerve split open is a lot more painful then having pressure on one.

For future reference: No pain occurs in the brain, the brain does not have pain receptors. I'm 100% you could pass out from this type of headache, if there was enough pressure on the nerve.

Oh, ok, its just that some people go crazy because they are so afraid they will get another one, and it always comes back.

It is pretty insane that some people have commit suicide because of them. I'm incredibly glad I've never had one.

hmm, the fact they say 100 times more painful than a migraine just scares me so much, because I can't imagine like anything worse than my worst migraines >_>

The amazing thing about these drugs as a treatment of cluster headaches is that even when you're not taking them they're effective. They reduce the frequency of headaches.

Some people report that it works for regular headaches and migraines too.
