We are just shocked about this whole thing becuase our country became lazy son of a bitches, and people in our country changed over that time, and it just tells me how crappy our country is doing right now, becuase people in this country dont give a **** about thier own country, they want other people to sacrifice themselves so they can waste thier lives doing "fun" yet un productive things. It's proven that there are very little people now majoring in Science and Mathmatics becuase "it's not fun".

I know generalizing a bit, but truth is, people can be such selfish bastards nowadays.

Anywayz, ya it is kinda sad about 9/11.
This post is 100% full of stupid.

I was in AP chem when it happened, and nobody knew what to think. The teacher just came in and said something about how "the news is showing something about planes flying into the twin towers." So, we sat around and watched the TV, neglecting our lab for a period and a half.

Today I had a PDEs exam and class as usual. Other than my favorite radio show host broadcasting from NYC, I didn't hear much about it at all.

I don't think we've forgotten at all, though. There has to be a time where you move on, and five years is a good long while. We've dealt with the response, changed how we view terrorism, and become more dedicated to national security and world security. We'll always have a deep, dark scar where we were grievously injured, and we'll see that scar every day. There's really no reason to shut down the country for a day of remembrance. Just consider how we celebrate the anniversary of the Pearl Harbor bombings.

I was in 6th grade...in gym. I remember this girl Emily and like two other girls were crying and then were worried we wouldn't be able to go to Washington D.C. for our 8th grade trip >_> I think my mom picked me up or something. My dad was supposed to go into the subway under the towers that day but he was late and had to go a different way. Anyway, I know mothers were coming to pick kids up that day. It was kind of chaotic.

As depressing as it may sound, it just becomes hard to keep track of all the tragedies. I promise we don't forget them, we just add them to the list.

Also, every news channel this morning covered memorial services. I definitely couldn't bear to watch so much heartache that early. Or really ever. We haven't forgotten.

I was watching Daily Planet today and they explained why every person in the world is able to recall precisely what they were doing when they heard the news about 9/11. It's called a flash memory, it's quite interesting, look into it more if you feel like it.

I was on my way to my sixth day of grade six in the new middle school, walking with two of my friends in grade seven. One of them told me and the other that America was under attack and that it was World War Three. We didn't believe him and made fun of him. Later, when we got to school, the teachers all told us what had happened. I'm on the west coast so most of the information of WHAT had happened had been finalized by before I had even woken up. I remember gas prices sky rocketing later that day to over a dollar a litre, though that price is normal now.

The high school in my town almost got attacked at 9:00 PM this morning. Same time as the 9/11 attacks.

They found an AK-47 and other loaded guns along with some explosives. SWAT team showed up and everything.

I don't think people forgot. Likewise, I think people are holding onto it as it's the only realization and rationality that people can use to explain how screwed up the world has become in such a short amount of time. Hence why I always hear (and I'm sure some of you too), "It hasn't been the same since 9/11.". Everywhere, I hear this. I could go into a very much longer tangent about it but this isn't the thread for it.

i live 15 minutes outside of D.C., so my public schools were shut down for the next day and during 9/11 every kid who's parents worked at the pentagon(which A BAJILLION DO around here, including my dad) got to call their parent to see if they were alright.
