I walked into ADV BIO today...

And I realized it's insane. Freshman year is ok except for my locker so far.. Its too far out of the way. They took the bright idea to give my 2 study halls, (One upstairs one downstairs), right after each other at the end of the day but they are on opposite floors and ends of the building. It's semi-impossible for me to make it from:

Am History II to Locker to Int Speech GR9BLOCK
THEN from Int Speech to Spanish

So there's two classes tardys are gonna be heavy in.

I dunno why I made this topic. I dunno. Back to school topic?

omg I'm TAing a pre-AP Bio class and we have a substitute and I think I'm going to kill myself before she leaves.

She's absolutely ridiculous. They should have just let us (the other TA and me) teach the class while the real teacher was out.

My Pre-AP Bio is pretty easy so far, but it's only the third week of school.

And sucks that your locker's far away.

At my school we can just carry our backpacks around with us, so I rarely go to my locker.

I haven't even gotten close to a tardy, and every single one of my classes is at the opposite side of the school from the previous/next one.

So far we've only been doing lab safety because the new curriculum has not arrived?

I dunno. It's weird. But I'm going to kill myself if we have another week of lab safety.

My bio class started out okay...the teacher handed out syllabus and made jokes and was normal...and then he said "I'm just the lab instructor, this dying old man on the floor is your teacher, have fun!" and left.

The old man (I swear he needs to be on life support, WTF is he doing teaching) repeated himself like 20 times and never actually said anything. At least he's only teaching for the first 8 weeks...still, they will be TORTUROUS.*

* tortuous? torturous? I am so confused. What I mean to say is it will be TORTURE to listen to him 3x a week.

Oh man, the kids nearly broke the substitute today. She refused to let a girl go to the nurse, so the girl stormed out and the teacher followed her shouting and then chaos pretty much broke loose in the classroom -- all the other THIRTY ninth-graders cheering that the sub was gone. The other TA and I were very afraid we were going to have to teach the class on our own, which probably wouldn't have been bad, since we actually know the subject matter and don't view the kids as hopeless wastes of time (as the sub does).

But the sub came back with the little girl in tow, walked to the classroom phone and called who I thought was the nurse, but a few minutes later two Waco police officers showed up and escorted this poor girl out of the classroom.

Then the sub actually announces to the damn class that the previous day, a student pulled the lever for the emergency shower, filling the room with water. Okay, I don't care if you are teaching the most well-behaved children you've ever seen in your entire life. You never EVER EVER EVER say something like that to a bunch of kids! I guarantee that until the sub mentioned the incident today, those kids hadn't given the emergency shower a second glance after the first day of lab safety. But since she felt it was necessary to tell the children about her discipline issues with other students (which is another huge "don't"), the other TA in the class had to basically stand directly beneath the shower practically slapping away the hands of the three girls who got bored and decided to see how close they could get to the emergency shower, how far they could pull on the lever before it went off. It was absolutely ridiculous.

AND THEN THE DAMN WOMAN CORNERS ME and asks me if I think she's doing a good job considering Biology is not her subject, and I DON'T, but I'm not going to sit there as a prospective teacher, her student, and tell her I think she's absolutely terrible at classroom management, that every time I saw her scold a child I wanted to hug him because she was much to harsh, and that by letting the kids see how frustrated they made her, she only encouraged them to misbehave even more.

We don't go back until Tuesday when the regular teacher will be back and OH MY GOD do I miss her. =(

Lol. This guy is so unorganized. Today he just started lecturing about some Leeuwenhoek we had to take at least 2 pages of notes on it. It was gay. This class is gay. Same with my American History teacher. No notes or worksheets. Just ****ty long lectures. I am going to fail that class just because he has a retarded monotonous voice like he doesn't seem to care if we pay attention. I have a vocab test in BIO tommorow on these words I've know since 5th grade. Something about Vacuoles and Organelles and some stupid Spontaneous Generation. OH SNAP. I made a turtle from a rock.

I have the hardest teacher in the school for Biolab honors. And the office is being really gay and not changing my schedule already. They ****ed up so many student's schedules this year it's ridiculous. Also, the number of freshmen this year compared the other classes is like 100 more. The halls are packed =/

The freshman outnumber the Sophmores, Juniors, and Seniors in numbers. But they count for more because they have more credits than us apparently =/

Some of these people are retarded up there. There's some kid in my Gym who comes to school only for gym because he failed it. XD

I don't think they take TAs in my school... I'm taking AP Bio this year. All the juniors in the class are smarter than the seniors (lol). My teacher's been teaching is for 20+ years, and he knows what he's talking about. I'm taking it relatively loose my senior year.

We used to have this permanent substitute who let us do whatever we want, but then some kid climbed out a window onto the roof and the sub got fired.

Depends on where you are and, if there's a university nearby, how they run their education program. Baylor sends junior education majors (teaching associates) into a local school for a certain period of time (for secondary ed. majors, you go for a class period, either 1st or 2nd; elementary ed. majors are there for an hour and a half; I don't know about middle school) and senior ed. majors intern at a school all day every weekday.
