    Buying a comp.

I've decided to buy a laptop, both for university and SM'ing. I don't play any other games so I'm not going to buy anything fancy, just trying to find a reasonably priced computer that's NOT a piece of crap that will last me a few years, at least. Minimum I'd like 1.6 GHRZ, 40+ GB, 14+ inch screen, 512+ mb RAM, and i don't really care about the graphics card as long as it works. Price willing to spend up to $700.

so far i've seen this one, what do you guys think?

I doubt you both know anything about computer specs.

You may want to look at this, it's a bit better for a bit more money:

Definetly not the one you posted church.

Intel extreme graphics isn't compatable with SM on my laptop.

Or with anything else that uses OpenGL or DirectX, unless it's simple enough, because it doesn't have support for T+L.

I'd go with pyroshock's one, with the Radeon graphics card, and what you're asking for.

Wtf. Mines different than that but the exact same computer. Brb checkout out specs.

EDIT: Ok I found some of my specs for my EXACT copy of the one in link

                  34.2 Gb of Memory
                  Integrated Graphics card
                  248 MB of RAM

Wtf. Exact same comp but lower stuff. I am calling rentway and demanding the right thing.

                    Re: Buying a comp.

On my desktop comp, (the comp i'm on now) has 1 GB of RAM, and i love it. I would buy a laptop with all the fancy upgrades and all, but i honestly cannot afford ANYTHING over $700. That is the cut off.

I'd wait a little bit unless you need it immediately then, prices will come down or your money will go up. Getting 512mb of RAM is just senseless.

Roughly the same thing I posted earlier. Cheaper, but with 1 gig of RAM.

I glanced through and the only difference I saw was the screen is an inch smaller and it's a 40 gig HDD.

Edit: You'll have to go down and choose the button for 1 gig RAM.

Edit2: Nevermind it has an Intel Graphics card.

                          Re: Buying a comp.

You should buy a desktop, as laptops are slower, more expensive, and tend to have shorter lifespans.

I'm assuming by University he means carrying around to take notes, etc.

                              A Desktop wouldn't work.
