Animal Testing: Right or wrong?

Hey guys, I'm here in communications class, and we are debating. Our group, after much deliberation we decided that our group would debate animal testing.

I have to be on the pro-side, wanting the animal testing laws to change.

My other partners are all for it. I cannot switch sides, because otherwise, hey, where'd the debate go?

I just have to find a few good scources to help out with my research, so I told my teacher I would "ask the people"... So, no flaming, no name calling and no making fun of what other people believe in.

So here's the question: Do you think animal testing is right or wrong, and if so, support your reasoning.

What products are we testing on the animals? If its ammo then hell yeah im for it, cause being shot has to suck (wow, from the guy going into the Marines). Well, you see researchers use animals for testing because they dont have to pay them for it. Human test subjects get paid, actually pretty good, so it cost the researchers time and money to find people who are really desperate for money. Also, researchers usally use mice, rats, and any type of animal that has hundreds of babies at one time, so animal testing could be a form of pest control. But, if researchers use dogs and if i knew where they lived, I would beat the living sh** out of them.

But i think it depends on what they're testing,
Perfume=sure
Shotguns=sure
Chemical waste=mabye not

why not chemical waste? If you test it on bunnies, you would get killer bunnies and then you could test shotguns on them.

We did this amd I believe animal testing is wrong bcause although we are smarter than they are how would u feel if they tested it on your pet and killed it? Or if they tested it on u?

Would you rather see them do it on your best friend and kill him? People always say how millions of animals are killed in testing, but would you rather it be millions of humans?

Because then you're wasting millions of dollars on cloning and that's exactly what they don't want to do. They want to keep as much money as they want while trying to figure out what effects products will have. So basically, it needs sacrifices.

Well, there are so many different alternatives to testing products for various levels of toxicity. I think they just use animals to save on the costs.
