    Clickity click click!

I had this thought, what if I was to program a music based game similar to DDR in theory (do this when the music does that) but everything has been done realy, except I can't find any REALLY GOOD mouse driven ones (except SiU, but that is diffrent)

So I was thinking what if I programmed a game (maybe in javascript because I know that farily well...) that was mouse driven in sorts, where you clicked a certan area when the you have to along with the beat of the music. (Kinda like DDR with clicking) But it would have to be geared to be used with the mouse, and maybe harder songs would not only have more things to click in a shorter amount of time, but have more places to have to click (from maybe 3 on the easest setting, to maybe 9 on the hardest, or something like that)

Maybe if I get a chance I can whip up a sample style of gameplay and/or some mockups. Any ideas on what programming language I should use? (keep in mind I cannot download and run anything with the computers I use x.x and I have to learn everything)

Dude... JS will be laggy as hell with music. If you want an online game with music/user events.... Flash, Java applets, and Director are your best bet. I recomend Java applets for 2 reasons.... 1. It's somewhat like javascript (so is flash, but yeah) and 2. Java is the most Linux user friendly... Flash for linux is very laggy... and Director has NOTHING for linux. That's just my input.

      I don't like mouse-based musical games.
There's not as big a demographic for mouse games. Because of laptops and such.

If someone can afford a laptop, they can afford a 5 dollar mouse.

Sounds just like Elite Beat Agents/Ouendan, but with a mouse.

EDIT: Wait. There is a game like that. Osu!

Ehhh, i guess its an alright idea. but IMO i dont really like mouse driven clicking games. its just sitting there and mindlessely click your mouse in different places over and over and over and over.......

whereas FFR... well, its just, lol alot better. XD
