    BitTorrent Help

I just got a BitTorrent client (Azureus) and the .torrent file that I want. The file that I'm trying to download is 8.51gb and 58.27mb (0.4%) has already been completed. And heres the problem, the ETA ranges from 10 days to 30 days. That is what I don't understand. Also, is there a way to make the downloading faster?

    Re: BitTorrent Help

Get more people to seed it, over which you really don't have any control.

I'm trying to download a CD and it stopped at 87.3% about five days ago because the seeders quit seeding for whatever reason.

Bittorrent just downloads from other people who happen to seed the file you want to get, from what I understand. So, if nobody seeds it or the people who seed it are poor seeders, you won't get it fast.

Also understand that you're trying to download an ENORMOUS file, which will understandably take a long time.

Download files that big? Doubtfully. BT is your best bet. You could also look for other torrents.

As for the number of seeders, I dunno. I guess it also depends on how good those seeders are.

By the way, how long did it take you to get those 57 megs?

Could also be your firewall settings.

                Utorrent > Azureus anyday.

OF COURSE THIS IS FOR DOWNLOADING LEGAL FILES LIKE LINUX

                ILLEGAL STUFF IS WRONG LOL

So yes, when you're downloading the legal files over Utorrent, try port-forwarding.

You forgot to ask a very important question.

                  UPLOAD.

Cap it, but don't leave it at like 5kbps which is retarded. Not capping your upload actually slows down your downloads.
