The fact that I almost drowned at a crowded
public pool at an early age lead my parents to
Teach me how to swim as if their, or more liikely
    my, life depended on it

I joined a swim team my sophomore year of high school. I went from barely moving and the instructors thinking they would have to go after me, to a moderate swimmer who actually helped the team score immensly. I was awarded the most improved swimmer. (Out of more than 100)

Same here, except I think it was 4.

Man, on all those science olympiad and history day state competition trips, you'd sound like a freak: "Hey, were all going down to the pool" "I can't swim "

Yeah, I would have beaten you up then thrown you in the pool, no joke. My friends would help me.

um no, actaully...see, its just that most people say 'yes' and 'no'. That is the standard for like, the whole world. And unless by 'get out more' means 'watch telletubbies for 8 hours straight' i think i'll jus keep my happy arse right where it is.
