You gave me your host files, but you didn't tell me how to make ammendments to it.

Open it in Notepad, then go down to the end of the file. Add 127.0.0.1 and then the domain name of the site you'd rather not see. To be safe, add both a www and a non-www line. So if the site name is placeholder.com, you'd want to add
127.0.0.1 placeholder.com
AND
127.0.0.1 www.placeholder.com

Or if you're using Mozilla Firebird, there's an option to block images from a selected server in the right click menu whenever you click an image.
