    Realtime Video Remix/Hacking

    What they call Scrambled Hackz

    From Wired:

"I saw a video the other day that really stood out from the rest of the links making the rounds.

It depicts a man demonstrating software that appears to parse what he's saying fast enough to reassemble the same words by pulling and reordering bits from a recorded Michael Jackson interview. The result: Jackson appears to speak the same sentence right back to him.

The man goes on to explain how the software behind this process works, and his video closes with a live performance of the software in which a performer appears to employ the beat-box method to control the playback of audio and video on a large video screen behind him, in front of what I can only imagine must be a dazzled crowd."

    Video Demonstration:

    Now how slick is this?

That's really impressive technically speaking, but do people actually like how it sounds?

EDIT: I can't help but think of the 80s cafe from Back to the Future Part II in which clips of Michael Jackson and Ronald Reagan act as waiters in much the same way the clips are reconstructed at the beginning of this. Maybe technology will be able to meet the 2015 deadline...

That is amazing and I can't wait till technology like this is released for music editing.

Drop your sample database into the scramble DB and beatbox out a beat.

Voila, your sequencer is rigged and loaded with the same beat made with your sample library.

This is pretty phenominal, as for how it sounds, I wouldn't worry. As people experiment with different songs they will find out which sound best and probably be able to make things more "musical" but I think some of it sounds pretty cool right now Like absurd, extreme, turntablism.

Seriously, like the other day I was thinking of something similar to this. It takes all your songs and memorizes all the different sounds, and can piece together a new one.

Stealing my brain waves will you.

I watched clouds awobbly from the floor o' that kayak. Souls cross ages like clouds cross skies, an' tho' a cloud's shape nor hue nor size don't stay the same, it's still a cloud an' so is a soul. Who can say where the cloud's blowed from or who the soul'll be 'morrow? Only Sonmi the east an' the west an' the compass an' the atlas, yay, only the atlas o' clouds.
