    OMG HELP!!!

    Ok, I've had a God Forsaken thing on my computer for a few weeks and it's pissing me off...it's sucking life out of my computer it feels like...

    Ok, it's a hijacker called, "ISTBar"...It's getting SOO annoying...I've run 3 virus scans and like 4 adware/spyware removal programs and NONE have gotten rid of it...I've tried looking for the files, and I can't seem to find it...Then, when I forget to scan for it a for a couple of days...It like multiplies...

    Ok, the places it's like hidden or whatever are in keys...wtf are keys?!

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

      I had the EXACT same thing awhile ago (we got our comp reformatted so now it's gone).

      I'm sorry to say I don't know what you can do. Try maybe Xoftspy if you haven't? I'm no good when it comes to viruses.

          I don't want to reformat my computer...

          So, I found a folder it's in...I tried to delete it...And a message popped up...It reads, "Cannot delete istsvs.exe: It is being used by another person or program. Close any programs that might be using this file and try again."

          WHAT THE FUCK?!?! Another person?!

              Boot up your computer in safe mode and delete it.

              That simple.

                      Restart your computer. As soon as it comes on tap F8 over and over again until a menu comes up that lets you go into Safe Mode.

                      Safe mode is running the computer with no unnecessary programs running and no internet connection.

                      After you're done, reboot and you're back to normal.

                          when starting up, hit f8 (f8 I think, someone back me up)

                          and it will let you pick the mode you start in

                          safe mode basically runs the bare minimum for windows to run, so the virus/hijack/whatever doesn't get a chance to open. Then you can delete it.

                                      Keys...Something from this Yahoo spyware scan thing...You get a description of what a hijacker does...Tells you the object's type, and location...



                                      1) Says key...WTF IS A KEY?!
                                      2) Says location...

                                      Wierdly...The folder wasn't there when I tried deleting...It was deleted when I restarted my computer...But these buggers are still there...And I am now pissed off.

                                              don't listen to them, you an seriously fuck up your compy by deleting registry entries without knowing exactly what to delete.
