wtf is wrong with my computer

So like, this happened before and I thought it was because of switching my computer to Japanese mode for MS, but now it's happening again for no reason and I don't know what is going on. Basically, when I type certain things (vowels, especially) they are replaced by....I dunno, some other language...in a little box, and when I hit enter whatever is in that box is put where I was typing. It's not happening on the forums, but it happens on AIM. Here's a ss:

I typed wtfiswrongwithmycomputer? and got this:



And now I've discovered that if I start typing with a capital letter then the box still shows up but doesn't convert it to whatever language.

Although I think this is kind of an interesting problem, it's really annoying and I don't know why it happens sometimes. Does anybody have any idea what the hell this is?

Do a system restore to a point before you changed to Jap mode for MS? I don't know, that's all the advice I could give. What an odd problem.

CTRL+ALT+DELETE and see if you have any language processes running, then end them.

No carbo. I probably just accidentally changed some input setting while I was switching it back and forth and I forgot to set it to English, but I've checked everything I can think of and they all say English. There must be something I'm missing...although, that wouldn't understand why it just randomly starts doing this. Seriously, all I've done on my computer all day is play MS, talk on AIM, and look at forums. It wasn't doing this yesterday or earlier today, it just randomly started a little while ago. There's probably some special key combination to unlock this English -> Kanji mode that I accidentally pressed or something. -___-

And uh, I don't see anything out of the ordinary on the process list. As far as I can tell, whatever it is is built into Windows itself.

EDIT: Last time it happened I just switched all my options back to English (I was still in Japanese mode at the time) and restarted. Now I'm in all English, though, but if I can't figure out anything else I'll just restart and see if that fixes it. I'd like to know what caused this, though...

EDIT2: I just alt+tabbed into and out of MS and it stopped doing it. I again think there must be some sort of keyboard combo that starts and stops this. I think I'll start hitting alt and random buttons to see if I can get it going again...

if he finds the key combination with alt+ to enable it, it must be the same combination to disable it. whats the big deal?

I've never had that happen, but try pressing Alt+`. That's the shortcut that turns the Japanese IME thingy on and off (and yeah, the "whatever language" you've got there is Japanese XD ).

I've tried that but it doesn't work. I was talking to Afro and he suggested that, but he said he couldn't ever get it to work. I suppose it only happens when we don't want it to. XD

Well the problem with that comes up if I press enter. AIM doesn't understand Japanese, so instead of all those characters I get a bunch of ???????? and when the message is sent an error pops up like "OMG WTF IS THIS?!" and AIM yells at me.

Plus I don't know Japanese. >___>
