Whats this do

I press this button called "ctrl" I don't know if you've heard of it, but it's at the bottom left of the keyboard.
Ok, so, I press that and like some circle goes around my cursor and get's smaller and smaller and then dissapears.
What is it?

Indicates where your cursor is. Go to Mouse options in the Control panel and you'll see it.
