    Migranes

    Migranes really suck.
I wake up, and my head hurts, and I see the flashing lights, and I am like oh crap.
I go downstairs for a little bit, my head starts KILLING ME, so I go sleep for three hours. I wake up, it doesn't reall yhurt, so I go on a computer, it starts hurting, I go sleep again for like an hour, and then go back on the computer after hsowering, and amazingly, it didn't hurt. I basically wasted 6 hours of weekend time trying to make this go away. I'm pissed.

Anyone else get these? And feel like ranting? And yes, I know mine aren't that bad, before you go OH YOU HAVE IT SO WELL I GET MIGRANES FOR TWO DAYS AND CAN"T DO A THING FOR ALL OF THAT TIME.

Yes the meds I'm on give me bad headaches sometimes.

Sometimes being only once in awhile, thank god...

Guys, migraines are not just really bad headaches. They're a disease all on their own, and some people get them so badly that they are debilitating--as in they really can't do anything while they're suffering from them.

My dad gets them, my sister (she's TWELVE) gets them, and I can tell you it's a lot worse than just the bad headaches I sometimes get. My dad is a stoic, stiff upper lip type guy (which is weird because we're not British) and I've seen him CRY when he gets them. It's not funny.

So yes, I can commiserate here, sympathetically rather than empathetically. I'm sorry you have migraines. See a doctor, there are some new medications that can really help, even though they can't cure you quite yet.

Thank you for being the first to spell "migraines" correctly, whorli.

One of my fourth grade PEP kids got migraines on occasion and it was really sad seeing him hurt like he did while he waited for his mom to come get him.

Seriously though, my mother has MS and she gets them a lot - anything can trigger them. Sometimes it's heat, sometimes it's loud noise, sometimes it's trippy video on TV. I can understand that migraines can be really frustrating and hindering.

I have yet to get a migraine. My mom gets them once in a long while -- I'm never there for it, though.

                      OKAY EXPLANATION TIME!!!!

Migraines are when your blood vessels dialate, I think they bump into the brain, giving you the massive headache and the vision thingys. I never get them really badly, I can make it through school with one (although I don't like to) because they aren't that bad, but once, I think it was like two years ago, when the weather changed, I dunno what happened, but I was getting these headaches left and right, which really sucked. Brb typing a paper that I didn't because of my migraine rofl.

My uncle gets super-bad ones. Last one he got, he had to go into the hospital for it. He was very nearly blind, couldn't move without massive assistance, and was litterally throwing up due to pain.

I get migraines everynow and then...Some bad and some not so bad...One was actually bad enough were I passed out for like 3 hours in school...My teacher just let me stay in her room while I was unconscious...

Migraines are brought on by some foods you eat, and things you drink. And some people, it's just genetics.

I get migraines about once every two months. The mdeicine I take for them is Imitrex, which works way better than asprin. Unfortunately, it causes nausea.

Also, my mom's an asupuncturist, and she treats people with migraines. I know she treats this guy who was getting them every week(that must suck so much) and a girl from my school, and it seems to be helping them. As for my migraines, the time between them varies, so I'm not really sure if acupuncture is helping me out personally.

Migraines are not really headaches; that's just one of the effects of it. Every time I get one, I am really cold, sleepy and tired.
