Requesting locks in the thread is quite possibly the stupidest thing ever and only shows you to be a mod suckup rather than a productive member of society. It accomplishes nothing because it doesn't help us find the thread any faster, and our judgement would tell us to lock the topic anyway without your asking.
If you find a lockworthy topic, send a mod a PM or instant message. This way, not only will the mod get there faster, but you won't be seen as a postwhore or suckup.
