    A couple people I knew (my French teacher, friend Paul from wayyy back in Elementary and Middle school) about this as well as myself.

    Did you know that some of the Normans were land Pirates? They lived on cliffs and rocky shores, and at night they would have huge fires at the tops of the cliffs so ships would think it was a port. Then, they came in and got sunk by the jagged rocks. While the ships were sinking, the Normans would row out, kill everyone aboard, and take all the stuff they had.
