R9800pro is way slower compared to RX800/GF6600GT/6800, which is around $140-$170 range (yea including RX800GT).

Well, $150 Canadian is like $120 or so USD.

So, did we ever settle AGP or PCI?

If AGP, go with the GeForce 6600GT chipset. You can find a nice one for $140 or so USD. It's about equal to a 9800XT, if I'm not mistaken.
