DirectX(?) lag issues. *UPDATED* New Info.

Me again, for my third thread in about 3 months. Comming at you again with some more questions and concerns.

I must first state that this isn't going in the video game section because although it is about a certain game, I don't believe it a game problem. I believe it is something else that I plan on discovering through this discussion.

    Now for the problem.
I have been playing City of Heroes for about 2 weeks now and just recently I have been getting these lag problems. It's not laggy when I sign on and it only gets laggy after about 45 minutes of actual playing, like doing missions and what not.

Before I realised that I hadn't had the up to date driver for my ATI stuff, I went through two articles on tweaking your system for better preformance.
    1-http://cityofheroes.gameamp.com/guide/viewGuides/310.php!orderBy=
    2-http://www.tweaktown.com/document.php?dType=review&dId=324&dPage=2

Now, Basically everything on that CoH guide I did and parts of the things on that other guide I did.

3,5,6,7,8,10 of the city guide were done.
pages 2-6 on the tweak guide. Along with the regcleaner, bootvis, and windows optimizer. ( I later uninstalled all of those under the orders of synth)

I know this isn't a network issue on my side because I can check my signal strength and see that its between 60-70%, usually what it is before I start playing.

After the lag starts to hit the only way to fix it is reseting. Turning off the game and reseting my connection does nothing. The problem only fixes itself after a restart of the computer. This really isn't a problem because it only takes about 3 minutes for it to shutdown and come back up. But haveing to restart every 45 minutes is a big problem. It gets to be very annoying and inconvenient.

If anymore info is needed feel free to ask.
You can find my system info Here.

    Thanks again.[/url]

    RE: Multiplayer lag issues.

I love how Trey vanishes for months on end... and comes back with 3 rapid fire threads, ALL DEALING WITH HIS GHETTO COMPUTER.

Last I checked, we're a forum for Finger DDR Online Simulation... not Computer Repair / Tech Help.

But, y'know... its always good to have you browsing around on the forums buddy.

PS - I didn't read a single word in your thread. Can't ya feel the love?

      RE: Multiplayer lag issues.

I feel it buddy, I feel it. Plus im never gone, Im always looking around on here, I just never post. Mindy(Skooter) posts enough for the both of us. She lets me know whats going on on here most of the time.

I should post more and this is my attempt too post more. Just these are the most recent things on my list of shit, so might as well post about them. I could be like everyone else and post stupid shit like, "Wolf Blitzer is in some Major shit now, follow the link, http://toolz.blogs.com/toolz_of_the_...s/so_black.mov , OH NOES!!".

      Anyway, im off for bed.

        RE: Multiplayer lag issues.

        UPDATE:

I think that I have semi found the problem.

I left to goto a birthday party today and I left my screen saver on. When I got back about 7 1/2 hours laters I noticed that the the text on my screen saver were glitching from one place to the other. Now my question to you is, What form is that screen saver in and what would cause it to start glitching around like that?

Im running the 3d text screen saver and I have done all of the tests on the Dxdiag menu with no errors.

Here is a copy of the "save information" log.

FFR is so retarded. Anticrombie is not the only person on these boards that knows anything about computers, and you all need to quit sucking him. =\

I know what almost all of that means, but it's almost all useless. It's just lists of currently installed drivers and hardware.

Redo the list for better optimization if all of that is useless.. It would be appreciated.

RE: Re: RE: Multiplayer lag issues.

Well, I think the problem now lies within the Direct X portion of these animations.
I read some other threads on other forums describing that Direct Sound has to do with some problems in some games.
So I turned off the hardware acceleration for that and Turned my prefetching back on.
Now when I play the game it doesn't run as smooth as it used to, I still saw some lagging around, but not as bad as before.

Also, when I enabled the Frame per/second counter, I saw I was getting anywhere from 25-60 the whole time this lag was going on.
Don't know what any of that means, but figured it might help some intelligent folks out.

FFR is so retarded. Anticrombie is not the only person on these boards that knows anything about computers, and you all need to quit sucking him. =\

I know what almost all of that means, but it's almost all useless. It's just lists of currently installed drivers and hardware.
From what I knew, Anticrombie was the only one on FFR who can do it.

Trey, if you didn't try and "optimize" your computer so much, you'd probably have no problems.

The only thing wrong with your setup is the fact you're using wireless, thats IT

RE: Re: RE: Multiplayer lag issues.

Hey ld, lay off the wireless speach. If wireless sucked so bad, it wouldn't be so popular.

This isn't a lag (dealing with internet connectivity) anymore. There is nothing wrong with my internet connection.

And I haven't tried "Optimizing" since synth told me not too. Which didn't do anything btw, the problems where already there before them and they (the problems) didn't get any worse of better after them.

I actually recieved help from someone through PM, which is a shame that they didn't post in here, maybe it would of broke this trend of people talking about shit I didn't ask about.

Save all your comments for yourselves. Only post if the content is actually going to help me. Other than that, its getting deleted.

Trey, wireless is great, but i'm saying it is a problem for you, because you have bad reception in your room.

                          Thats what I meant.

I got good reception since I moved around my shit. Im getting 55%-70% constant.
