..two years since I've been signed up to FFR. That's right.. I now am a part of the 2 year FFR club. Whoever the heck is in there.. well welcome your new member ;o
Anyways. I figured I'd do a bit of a different post, since this is my 2 year post and all.. and write out a bunch of useless information to bore the heck out of you all.
Why did I join FFR in the first place?
I joined because of the game, obviously. I started playing DDR about a month before this, and I was really obsessed and wanted to get my hands on some DDR action. I googled for "DDR online games" and found FFR. Enticed by the name "Flash Flash Revolution" I loaded the flash game on my computer and played whatever I could.
The computer I was using at this time could definitely not withstand the processing power FFR takes, as it was an AMD K6/2 500mHz processor. Yes.. old and crappy (I'm now on an AMD 64-bit 2800), but I was playing easy songs so it didn't matter too much. Heh, I could remember trying to do Flight of the Bumblebee on that computer, and failing within the first 10 seconds just because my computer couldn't handle the amount of arrows. (This was around the time of the contest to see who could get the highest score on it, which if I remember correctly was Arch0wl). I can remember the old layout of FFR, too. With the 5 selections and whatnot.. man those were the days. FFR has long since changed. Okay going off-topic.. uhm.. well I basically joined because I was feeding my DDR-craving.
The forums.. what about those?
I'd have to look up my first post as to really WHY I joined in the first place.. which I can't do, for some reason.. anyways. I think I mainly joined to talk to other DDR players, and talk about FFR. That was probably my main intent, bemani in general anyways. So I started posting.. and I can remember my first ever brag, too. It was on Pulse.. and it was on 0.5x music, haha. It was some crappy AA, but I was proud of it. Not on judge 1, just 0.5x. At the time I couldn't move my hand that fast (playing one-handed..) and I had to speed it down to 0.5x just to play at that speed. Now it's no problem of course.. I can do Pulse one-handed. Anyways.. afterwards I switched to Judge 1 just for the hell of it, and posted some brags on that judge. Like.. there was this odd Lab score with 25 greats.. 1 good.. 5 misses i think, don't think I had marv's on (due to my crappy computer not running SM Alpha's). I only posted like, 3 scores on Judge 1 and then I played on Judge 4 for the remainder of my play-time. Probably which is why I've only been called BS on twice.. because my scores actually *look* legitimate, and have really no.. BS-calling factors to tag along with them. Though, looking back I wonder how I did some of the things I did. Anyways! Off-topic again.. well, let's see. That's about why I joined the forums.. and still post once in awhile even today.
There were some blips in there..
Yep, some blips. I left FFR for a bit, unnoticed.. I just stopped posting. I came back with some brags, and man they were way worse then what I was.. I got my skill back, though. Then I stopped playing.. saying I announced that I would never compete on SM keyboard-wise. Which.. I did do, for quite awhile. I started up index though, and got pretty good at that (4 perfects on Duk's Delirium Heavy for example). I now have long-since stopped.. I suck horribly. Anyways.. there were times where I was gone for awhile.. never posted.. but some people actually noticed, which was really surprising. Okay enough about that.
What did you really accomplish at FFR?
Over 1000 posts. Just kidding (though that's true), this would be my.. 1619th post. I've met a lot of neat people, and spent a great deal of time here. Though I haven't contributed a whole lot, I got really good at StepMania and even met a couple people from the forums in person (Nima, Anuj). Being able to compete with others was really neat, and I honestly believe the best SM players are on these forums. Also, these are the longest running forums without a bunch of idiots posting useless crap all the time (EG: DDRFreak). Moogy completely makes that exception. FFR is seriously a cool place guys.. I don't know why some people dislike it. It's free.. has a neat flash game (with multiplayer support!), and a great community. You really can't go wrong. Too bad the simfile section was taken out.. oh man that was so awesome. Boy those were the days, haha.
Did you really contribute a whole lot to the community?
That's really up to the community, isn't it? Yep, it is. You guys tell me if I did.. I don't really know. I just had a great time on these forums, and there's never been any rough spots. I don't think I was a really moron when I signed up.. and yes I've made some stupid posts and all, but whatever. Everyone does. I did make steps for a song on FFR (which you might see more of), which is really cool. I love contributing to the places I frequent a lot.. like this one. FFR is really though the first ever forum I stayed at. I never really liked forums much.. and the only other one I can recall was one for a program called Klik 'n' Play (and others like Multimedia Fusion etc), but this one I stayed at.. and it's been two years. So I hope I did something for you guys.
Which people meant anything to you here on these forums?
Well, this is just another name for the shoutouts section. Yep, everyone does one.. so I shall follow the trend. I'm going off COMPLETE memory, so if you meant something to me but I forgot, I'm sorry.

Snapps NorCal represent! (Right?) Snapps is a nice guy. You're gettin' pretty good at simfiles, too. Yeah my Infection one wasn't all that great.. it was just simplistic. I didn't really incorporate any complex rhythms. ANYways. We can do duo's whenever you want.. just bug me, I'm a lazy bastard. You're pretty good at DDR too.. keep playin' it up on ITG ;o
Plasmix I can completely remember thinking you were Hiro for the longest time. I still don't know to this day, but I can remember reading something denying that.
