    comp trouble

my computer has recently become fubared.

i couldnt even log onto it unless im in safe mode...and im on that right now...and i scaned using microsoft's antispyware beta..and norton....

but when i scan with norton it finds the viruses...but it wont let me delete them...i try to but it says delete failed...very lame

i also scanned with adaware6....but everytime i try to get back on without safe mode im usually completly frozen...and this thing called spywareno keeps coming back...and im sure its a bad thing. i delete it from the add/remove programs. but it comes back..

i dont mind getting on safe mode...but there is no sound...and i cant play ffr. or listen to my celion dion.....and i cant get onto msn without downloading an update. and i dont think i can do that in safe mode.

i was told to use my reboot disk and completly swip my comp...and someone give me the pros and cons to this...i dont really have anything important on my comp...nothing i cant redownload....and can i send away for one of these disks or can i buy one?

i would really appreciate some help...i cant go much longer without ffr....i can play it...but no music....it says no sound devices are installed...but i think that is part of safe mode.

i wasnt sure if this belongs in critical thinking....but i would want advice from people with comp knowledge.....

if it doesnt belong here please dont remove it...cause i just advice...then you can completly erase the post

Backup everything that's valued to you on a web server (Sense you can connect to the net) or a CD/Floppy and re-format the sucker.

Load your old things and start out with a clean slate for a harddrive.

find that pos file that is messing you up, place it in a new directory, open that up in dos, and hit deltree *.* then rmdir. this should let you get by not being able to delete it in explorer. Next you need to go through your registry and delete any references to the program.
alternatively, download Knoppix STD live CD and delete the file, then mess around in linux

Meh.. knoppix STD isn't n00b friendly, and I'm pretty sure that's who we are working with, KDE - noob friendly, STD uses some sort of crazy right click menu thing =/ IDK, I didn't have trouble with it but I'm sure a WINDOWS n00b would... kde/normal knoppix is the way to go.

            Step 1: Uninstall Norton.
            Step 2: Get something good.
Step 3: Scan. Rinse and repeat.

What version of Windows are you running? Have you tried booting up with the last known good or using system restore?
