    Aviation

I'm begining the process of obtaining my private pilot rating, and was wondering if there is anyone else here that is also interested in aviation, or if someone here already has their license.

The way I figure, it's going to take me about two years and 4 grand to finish, based on how much time and money I have to throw around right now.

Does anyone live near Birmingham Alabama, that knows of any good C.F.I. pilots, or schools? I don't live their right now, but will probably be moving near that area very soon.
I am not allowed to be happy for more than a half an hour. Otherwise strange things can happen.

      RE: Aviation

I've got a few pilot friends. In fact, I was about to start for my pilot's license but then decided "Why would I ever need this?" and stopped.

A good economist would have stopped me when I decided that. Too bad I wasn't econ crazy then.

yeah, i'm into aviation. If you're interested at all in the military, the Civil Air Patrolwould be an awesome way to get your private pilots liscense and it would cost only a fraction of what you're paying. check it out at http://www.cap.gov

              UUUUUUUUUAAAAAAA

Come on. Everybody knows what aviation is. Even if you somehow missed out on the clue train, there's a website out there for looking up anything. It's called "Google", I think. I'm not sure. Let's hope I'm right.

Search the world's information, including webpages, images, videos and more. Google has many special features to help you find exactly what you're looking for.

Oh, it looks like I am.

I was in the Cival Air Patrol for two years. I was about to get my Mitchell award when we moved. The squadron I was in wasn't really big on flight training though, they were all about the ground team doing search and rescue ops. I made it up to deputy cadet commander and served as the first seargent of the 87th sqaudron Alabama wing. It was really fun and I had a great time doing it. It would normally be very cheap to do your flight training there, but like I said not in that squadron at that time. I'm to old to join as a cadet but I'm thinking about joining again as a senior member.

Has anyone here ever heard of Tab Express Airlines? I'm thinking about maybe applying there.

If what they are telling me is true it's a very reasonable deal. I wonder what the real catch is with them.

I am going to be enrolled in the CAP over the Summer. I have to do something besides Six Flags, FFR, and DDR.
                          Or do I??
Anyways, I'm probably going to be in Search and Rescue, Disaster Relief, and Wilderness/Survival Training (no brainer here). Hell, I'm not going in Space anytime soon, so why go for Aerospace Education Membership?

CAP feeds into the Air Force. I think you get a scholarship, too. Plus flying around really high looking for burning cars isn't too bad, either.
