In case you don't know who this man is, just know that he plays chess good. Much better then the average person.

I just saw a segment on ESPN with Bobby Fischer talking at a conference and spewing some very anti-semitic statements. I had thought that Mr. Fischer was still considered "vanished". Anyway, it seems that he has become a strange hermit-type man now; if you read the article it describes some of his traits as a person today, and they don't seem to be very agreeable traits. I honestly think that he has gone insane. Any comments?

Anyways, I myself play a good amount of chess and I've always viewed Bobby Fischer to be a goal. But now that opinion has changed quite a bit.

The rest of you need to do your research on the old relationship between Bobby Fischer and Dick Schapp, how it relates to Jeremy Schapp and the stuff in Iceland, his hermit behavior in CA, his 10 years as a fugitive in Europe/Asia, etc etc etc...

The last thing we need is the uninformed posting and commenting on matters above their head, or in a field so far from their expertise that its a foreign language.

Well, his claim was that the Kasparov/Karpov match was pre-determined, that the games were created before hand and just memorized and played out. Which, seems rather retarded to me, but well.... Fischer is likely what Dick Schapp called him... a guy without a sane bone in his body. In that interview, he seemed like a small child on the forums calling out names at the big kids, trying to come up with a good reply to an excellent putdown, and failing miserably, so he just starts whining.
