    This time it was in my paper.

    Leet is slang for "elite," and, as you can guess, speek means "speak." Young Internet users created Leetspeek to confuse outsiders, such as their parents.
    If you're a parent, Microsoft advises you to pay attention to these leet terms, which can point to illegal activities or indicate your child is involved in online bullying:

              I don't understand it. Either the guy who did the article didn't do his homework, or he's really really twisting it so it fits the "confused parents" angle.

              "Leetspeek" is pure lingo. Nothing else. That's like saying gangsters used the term "torpedo" for "hitman" to confuse the police.
