Ouch.

I mean, LOOK at those sexy specs--until you look at the vid card. That's a dealbreaker, man. It supports, like, DirectX 7.0. Not a joke. It runs HL2, and everything looks great except the DX 7.0 water effects. Ugh.


So, I need YOU, fellow citizens!


In June or maybe a little earlier, I WILL buy a Graphics card.

You decide which one I buy. Link me, give me ideas, advice, anything.


Constraints:
MUST be AGP. PCI-E is not acceptable, as it is annoying, and I don't even thing my computer HAS a PCI-E port, at all.
MUST be NO MORE than 300 bucks. That that is the MAXIMUM. About 250 is DESIRED maximum price, but up to 300 if what I am looking at is REALLY nice.


Go go go, guys (Anti).

I think the X800 or X850 are still way out of that price range, but I can't be sure if they've dropped that far yet.
The 9800 Radeon Pro is probably your best bet though.

Wow, the X800's have come quite far down in price.
Anyone know what the good nVidia card is at a decent price? I only know of ATi's..
Oh, and for the record 9800's are AGP.

I can't see what Anti's suggestion is.

But really you do need to go over $300 to get a graphics card... PNY Geforce 6800GT..

HOWEVER, I suggest you wait to get a Geforce 6800GT (or Ultra) until this summer when the new cards are out. They will make this cards go down a LOT in price, and will max out your system too. Maybe you could get a BFG Geforce 6800GT, since those come OCd already. But really, hold out until this summer is my best suggestion...

If it's something far out of my price range (and it will be :P), I'll just get the one Bandit linked to. Or Maybe Anti's.

They are both extremely hot--but thing is, I don't know the real difference between an AGP and an AGP 2.0 port (required for Bandit's card).

I need some cideo card counseling, stat.

I'm planning to buy nVidia 6600 GT. Sorry, I don't like 6800 GT , which I'd rather have Radeon X850 for the money's worth.

I don't know either Qreepy. But really, do buy one in the summer. The new cards will be like twice as good as the current ones. It will greatly lower the prices. And it's not like you'll need the new cards since the 6800 will max out your system anyways (especially the BFG 6800GT or any 6800Ultra).

If you want the $300 price range and want to stick with nVidia, get a BFG 6800OC. 16 pipes and cheaper than the GT. Not sure if an AGP version is out yet, though.

I know this is off topic, but does anyone here know if there is lag problems with the 9600 xt? I have that and now I can't run stepmania without it lagging, it may be stepmania itself though. I looked through all my settings in sm and they are all fine, i even changed the graphics to lowest settings and stuff.. The card runs hl2 and source fine, i need it to run sm though :/

GeForce 4 MX 200 doesn't exist.

btw GeForce2MX 200 is one of the worst graphic cards I've ever seen.
I recommend Radeon X800 or X850 with PCI-E.
