My Internet has been down all day, and I'm looking for something to do. So I decided to make a post, to later post on FFR, while my computer was detached from the Internet. Here's what i've done.
7:30am - Wake up, see red light on my router, and no blue light on my phone router. Means the router is out of sync with the modem, or the net is down. I find out the net is down.
7:35am - Get in shower, because I had 2 exams today.
7:40am - Get back in my room, and fiddle with the Modem, to try and reaquire a signal. No such luck.
7:50am - Called Adelphia (My Shitty ISP) and found out there was an outage in Synder, Amherst, and Williamsville.
8:00am - Left for school.
8:30am - Exam.
1:00pm - Exam.
2:25pm - Got home, and found out the Internet is still down.
2:30pm - Call Adelphia to see if I get the same message about downtime, I didn't.
2:33pm - Got on the phone with a live rep. He steped me through all this bullshit stuff, and it still didn't work. He thought it would be a good idea to send someone out here. I let him, but I can cancel if it comes back on.
2:45pm - Call neighbor to see if his service is down. It is.
2:50pm - Bitch to my mom about the internet being down.
2:52pm - Started writing this post
2:55pm - Stoped writing, to go do something else.
3:15pm - Left for dentist
4:30pm - Back from dentist
4:33pm - Checked Internet, still down
4:35pm - Called Adelphia, still no notice about downtime in any area.
4:45pm - Snowblowed
4:53pm - Called adelphia again, but this time stayed on to talk to a rep, asked if they could reset my modem or something (friends suggestion), he said no.
5:30pm - Dinner
5:42pm - Called adelphia to see if there was an error message, it said there is an outage in "your area", this leads me to believe it's very localized, as they have all phone numbers logged, because I tried calling from my cell, and it prompted me for my home #
7:25pm - I start swearing a lot due to outage.
7:28pm - I start massaging the modem, to try and make it work
7:38pm - I start walking back and forth across my room, pondering what to do.
8:24pm - I start swearing, the net is back up, I THINK
8:28pm - It is, calling Adelphia to cancle service call, and posting on FFR
I'm really fed up with my ISP. This is my night off from school, and no school tomorrow, and I have no contact with the outside world. Our phones are going to rely on our internet soon, and it can't be going down like this every other day!
