Virtual Keyboard FO REAL THIS TIME

A bunch of you probably remember a few years back when an annonymous company claimed they would be creating virtual keyboards- basically an infared keyboard projected onto any surface that would eliminate the need of lugging a real one around for your cell phone or PDA.



They faded into the background, and everyone wrote it off as yet another big-talking tech myth that would never come to fruiton.

Not so. The company is up and running, and selling virtual keyboards for $200 from Their Website. I don't know about you guys, but I think it's pretty damn cool.

that's awesome. Not worth the 200 dollars though, I'd rather get an illumniboard for 80. google illumniboard and be amazed.

i heard about this a little while ago, it was in the news paper, looks sorta cool, but im with emccky on this one, not worth the 200 big ones.

EluminX? Not that amazing, this virtual keyboard is way cooler and I may get one in a few years when the price is lower and if they actually work well.

Emccky, thanks for telling me to google something that doesn't exist and has nothing to do with this topic. The entire point of the virtual keyboard, besides being bleeding awesome, is that it's mobile. I don't think lugging one of those full sized backlit keyboards is quite the same.

Infrared light? Wouldn't it be easy to put your hands in the way by accident, causing, "esjklasfarouh809276jna]][],./dsaf" to come up on the screen?

Does it work for anything with a screen larger than a PDA?

Still, I'll keep mine for now. Especially since the way I type is sorta weird, and it might register funky when I tried typing.

I don't think I like the idea. Seems too odd, and there's absolutely nothing wrong with conventional keyboards as it is.

Hmm...For people constantly on the move with business and whatnot, this might be a nice idea. I don't think it's really aimed at the general public, considering that many people use a PC or laptop anyway...
